KBC VR-4R

At the start of every year comes the “getting used to new kit session” and this time around its been a doddle thanks to the all new VR-4R from KBC. Last season I ran the VR2R and was pretty impressed with the fit and all round usability, but as soon as I put the VR-4R on I realised the difference between the models is vast. The new model has a completely different feel, more akin to that of a top of the range Japanese helmet, making it superb for high speed track work, while the light weight also suits long term road riding and general use.

Noise is kept to acceptable levels, keeping fatigue to a minimum, and the vents work well too, not that we have had much summer to try them yet, but I live in hope. What has been tested so far has been the Pinlock facility, in fact every time I have put this helmet on during 2012 it has rained heavily so I can definitely confirm the anti fog bit of the system works very well.

The graphics are cool too, I am usually a bright coloured guy when it comes to helmets but I’ve opted for the Zodiac scheme (main picture) resplendent in Black and Gold, very nice indeed.
